Elisha Freeman was born in 1809 in Buncombe Co., NC. Hannah 'Annie' Coker was born May 10, 1820 in Laurens Dist., SC. They owned land at the foot of Sand Mountain between Dawson and Collinsville, AL. The only thing left is the family cemetery. A highway runs about 10-15 feet from the cemetery. I visited the cemetery today. There are 8 tombstones, two of which are Confederate markers. These are the inscriptions: Elisha Freeman 1809 1856 Infant of Jas. & M.L. Roan Born & Died Oct 13, 1870 M.L. wife of Jas.
