I really can't tell you much about Dr. Winston except that I have seen his name on many documents. He signed pension applications for 2 of my ancestors, one in 1889 and one in 1909, so he probably was still practicing in 1910. I would imagine that he is connected to the Winstons in Valley Head who built the Winston House. It was built by William O. Winston and is a beautiful ante bellum home still standing in Valley Head. It is now a bed and breakfast. The Winstons were Union people.
My father, too, got his middle name from the doctor who delivered him.
