Rick: Thanks for the info. Is there a roster of the 49th Ala on the net or somewhere I can write to get a roster of the men. Whats the county seat and would they have records of the unit there? Is Eva in Dekalb County? Is there a confederate monument at the courthouse with a list of men who served? Do you have a Unit history of the 49th Ala? What Nancy Ann Lawless' maiden name and her parents? What was her husbands name and their children? My branch of the Lawless family came out of Virginia also. Do you have the name of her siblings? My branch moved from Virginia to Grainger County Tennessee to Dekalb County Alabama, not sure which town, to Davidson County Tennesse. I think they spent about ten years in Dekalb county and about four of the 16 Lawless children were born there. I do not have my records with me , but I think they lived in Alabama from about 1833 to 1844. They also married into several families, the Deatons and Bundrens. I will look for Nancy Ann, I remember her name but will check my records to see what generation she was from. thanks. Drew Loless
