The 1860 DeKalb federal census abstract (from p. 72, family # 458, Lebanon P.O. of census) lists a Ruth J., age 3, in family of: Tilman Copeland, 25; Talitha, 25; Perilee, 5; Martha A., 2; and William R., 3/12; all born in Alabama. If Ruth's age matches, this is probably your family.

1880 abstract also lists "Hulgin" family which includes Lilla(Lillie), age 7, John, 27, and Ruth, 22. Tilman and Talitha Copeland are not listed in 1880 abstract.

The DeKalb County Marriage Index lists: John M. Hulgin (sic) and Ruth J. Copeland, 15 Nov 1871, per book 1864-75, page 368.
