Yes, a cousin had a researcher check and the James Bruce in Marion Co, TN is the father of Murphy Bruce. I still have not found the record I located years ago of a first marriage of Murphy E Bruce and Mary E. Anderson. I cannot locate my notes or a copy to see what county and state that is recorded. I'm not finding it again, only the 2nd marriage to Elizabeth Collier, after the presumed death of Mary Bruce. If you have any means of checking that, I don't have the resources in Alaska. The record I saw was in the library in Arlington, TX.
