My Mother's maiden name was Reeves. Many of her relatives moved to Alabama. There is a story about 1st cousin 3X removed, William G. Reeves who's death date is 11 Nov 1853. He obtained land in Huntsville, Dekalb Co., Ala in 1852. He is listed on the census 1850, Div 25, Dekalb Co., Ala.

Story passed down was that he was killed by his brother in law, possibly one of Davy Crockett's brothers, haven't found any proof of murder. His wife is believed to be Eliza Crockett whose brother David A. Crockett lived with them in 1850 census De Kalb Co., AL and on the 1860 census was listed in Georgia living with his father D. M. Crockett. David A. Crockett appears to have never married. Anyone out there have any information to share would appreciate it jmcronan@aol.com
