Valma was first married to a Thomas Stephens who I believe was a doctor.
Brother Lewis Everite James.
Sarah Tapp was their mother,
Albert James Father

Joseph Ashley aka Joashly aka Joashley aka Ioashley James born in Ga
wife Nancy J. (I don’t know if the J is the initial of her middle name or maiden name) maiden name unknown born in GA. Both born in GA about 1806 parents of both unknown so far.
They had 8 children, one were born in AL The other seven born in GA between 1835 to 1850s.
Albert was the second son. Born 1/18/1846.
The problem with researching Joashley is the names, I and others have found different spelling in different census and land records, in both GA and AL. I found some records in Carroll County GA in 1840. They moved from GA to St. Clair county, AL after 1850.

Sarah Tapp mother was Melvina Willwright (aka Vina aka Elviney)
Curtis ‘Buck’ Tapp father
Hopes this helps
