John,

There are two Blue Springs in Alabama. One is way down in South Alabama and the other is in Calhoun County. The Calhoun County one could fit what you are looking for. The soldiers may have come down the Coosa River valley from Summerville. This Blue Springs is just South of present day Jacksonville, AL and just off of Ft McClellan. This Blue Springs would be about 14 miles southeast of Gadsden and Blue Springs and Summerville, GA would be on the same side of Lookout Mountain. The soldiers would then march through a valley on the southern end of Lookout Mt to get to Gadsden. Haven't been able to find a Wall Hollow yet. Hope this helps. Rick
