JANE TAYLOR COOK
Posted by: Sue Date: April 25, 2000 at 14:12:35

Jane's maiden name was Dopson, born in Marion
Co., GA. As an orphan, she lived in Tallapoosa Co., AL a few years, then married John Taylor of Pike Co., GA and lived in Zebulon until John went to Civil War in 1861.
They had three children William J., 1853; John H., 1856; Martha J., 1858. John was killed in 1862 and Jane married again to Benjamin Cook, and was living in DeKalb Co., AL in 1870 with her 3 Taylor children. She was still living there in 1880 and Martha J, at 22, was the only Taylor child in the house, although her name did not have Taylor as surname. It looks as if she were Cook but her age agrees with the birth of 1858. If anyone can help me with this family I would be so thankful.
Sue
