The 1860 DeKalb Co. AL federal census abstract (from p. 25 of the original census, Head Spring P.O., family #154, taken 6 Aug 1860) lists:MORGAN, William D., 42, farmer, b. NC; Sarah, 42, b. TN; Nathaniel, 18; John, 15; Martha, 14; Jacob, 13; James, 11; Thos. H., 10; William T., 9; Samuel D., 6; and George M., 3. All children b. AL.
The 1850 DeKalb abstract taken 2 Dec 1850 lists: MORGAN, William, 31, farmer, b. NC; Elizabeth, 35, b. TN; Nathaniel, 8; John, 5; Martha, 3; Jacob, 3; and James 1. All children b. AL.Wife may or may not be same person (i.e., Sarah Elizabeth) and ages of Martha and Jacob due to date census taken.
The 1870 DeKalb abstract (from p. 19 of the original census, Sulphur Springs P.O., family #128) lists: MORGAN, Wm. D., 53, farmer, b. NC, Sarah, 50, b. TN; James, 21; Thos H., 19; Martha, 23; Wm. F., 16; Saml. D., 14; George M., 13; and Hannah, 9.All children b. AL
If you can get a copy of Thomas's death certificate, it may confirm that he was the son of William D.Hope this provides at least a clue.
