James S. GREEN and Sallie HOYL 1850's

I am looking for information concerning James Sterling/Stirling GREEN and Sarah/Sallie HOYL in DeKalb County in the 1850's. According to references concerning his will, James Stirling GREEN and his wife, Sallie, were living in DeKalb County when they died in the 1850's (1857?). They are both supposedly buried about three miles east of Fort Wayne, AL. Connected families include: McSPADDEN, HOYL, PEELER, LOWRY, CARLOCK, RUSSELL, and CURTIS. Any information would be appreciated. Is there a historical society for the county? Where are the records from that time period kept? Locally or in a main repository? Am willing to share what information I have.
