Hello,

I have been researching the maiden name of my grandmother; She was born Curleva Jackson around 1876 or 1877 in Elmore Co., AL. My first cousin told me that her father was Griffin Jackson,1855-1/17/1917-place of death: Elmore,AL.
Griffin Jackson was supposed to be Indian/Cherokee.

In the 1880 Federal Census I found the following:

Cold Spring,Elmore, AL

1)Jackson,Griffin,1855,MU
2)", Texas,1858,Black
3)",Joseph,1873,Black
4)",Lila,1874,BLk
5)",Misho,1878
6)",Matha,cousin,1879*

Old Town,Dallas,AL

1)Jackson,Jinny,1845,AL, MU
2", Anna,1875,AL,MU
3)",General,1875,AL,MU
4)",Toot,1877,AL,MU
5)Mattie,1879,AL,MU*

*This is possibly the same person, but not sure. I am doing further research to see if there is really a connection.

Curleva Jackson later married Ben German(Jermans)on 10/23/1896 in Lowndes, AL. Misho Jackson later married a Bennie Harris. No dates on marriage. My first cousin also stated that we are related to a Edmund Jackson. In my reserach two persons were found:

1)Jackson,Edmund,1826,MU
2)",Edmun,1866,MU

Thanks for any assistance.
