Jean,
Louisa Jane Davis was most likely the daughter of Elisha Davis and his first wife. After his wife died, he married Lutitia/Lutisha McLeod. On the 1850 census, it has L. J. Davis listed as Elisha's son. This was probably a mistake and should have been listed as daughter.Louisa married James Green that same year. They were listed on the 1860 Henry County, Alabama census. I understand that he died in the Civil War. I have not been able to find the family in 1870.By 1880, Louisa and her son George W. are living with her son James Henry Greene in Henry County, Alabama. In 1900 Louisa is living with her son George and his family in Dale County, Alabama.I have not found Louisa after that date.George and his family are listed beside his son, Martin (and family) in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida in 1910.I'm still working on this family.
Louisa was half sister to my great, great grandmother Louisana Davis that married William W. Hay.
Very interested in knowing your line so I can add it to the family outline.
