Am looking for any info on Dale Co., Al. Gilley's ... James M. Gilley came to the Newton area before 1833. He married Licethey Bass dau of Esau on 25 Jan 1833 in Dale Co. He was in Dale Co. militia and served in the Creek Indian Wars of 1836-37 and received Bounty land.. Had aprox. 14 children most of whom relocated but some stayed in the area.... Looks like his oldest son Asa Esau A. Gilley b. ca 1834 Newton, Dale Co., Al mar. Matilda and they had about 9 children... Looks like they stayed .... James M. Gilley B. 1813 in Habersham co., Ga.. lived prob. Montgomery Co., Ga. next door to Esau Bass and family.. Think James M.'s father might be Leroy but can't prove it... Does anyone out there know anything about these folks... James M.'s dau. Drucilla Emley Jane mar. a ----- Marsh in Dale Co., about the end of the War between the States. First child born 17 Sept. 1866. They had 4 dau.'s before he died ca 1881... The girls in order --- laura Jane, Mary Elizabeth, sidie or Lidy, Allie.... After her husbands death she moved with several of her siblings and their families to Suwannee Co. Fla... and there she remaried to David Scott... Help --- Does anyone have any info on Asa and his decendents... or any Decendents of Gilleys, Bass or Marsh////
