I am looking for information on my Grandfather: Levie Henry Hawthorne. I know that he was born in Geneva County on 9-29-1906. Levie was the Barber in Newton, Dale County, Alabama until his health got to bad for him to work. He was also married to Ula Beatrice Dillard (Bea). The two of them lived in Newton most of their lives and are both buried at Bethel Baptist Church in Newton. I am trying to find out some information on his Father "Levie Lafayette Hawthorne". His Mother was Mary Frances Nichols. Levie Lafayette was murdered and Mary Frances remarried Issac Dykes. I know that Levie Lafayette and Mary Frances were married November 9, 1905 and they had the following children together: Levie Henry born 9-29-1906, Cumi born 3-5-1909, Comer born 9-2-1911, Drucy born 3-3-1914, Marilyn born 7-21-1916. Mary Frances and Isaac Dykes were married on 9-1-1918 and they had the following children: OT born 7-9-1919, Isaac born 4-21-1921, Hettie Pearl born 3-22-1923, Robert born 8-29-1925, Mary Lorine born 7-7-1929. I can't seem to find out any information on how and why Levie Lafayette was murdered and where he came from. Also who his parents were. If anyone knows anything, I would appreciate the information.
