WILLIAM G. WARREN - DALE COUNTY, ALABAMA
I am searching for information regarding my gggrandfather, William G. Warren, and his family. Alabama census records indicate that he was born somewhere in Georgia on 5/25/1836. He married Emiline (last name unknown) and migrated to Alabama prior to 1860. Emiline was born 12/23/1839, also in Georgia. Obviously, I am also very interested in finding more information on Emiline's family. The 1860 Alabama Census shows William G. and Emiline residing in Dale County with a one year old daughter. It is known that he was a farmer and the census also shows him serving as a deputy sheriff.
William G. and Emiline Warren raised nine children, including my ggrandfather, Jule Jerry (J.J.) Warren, b. 10/5/1872 in Dale County.
J.J. Warren and his older brother, Winwright Warren migrated to Florida around 1900 and they raised their families there. Winwright wound up in the Wachulla, Florida area in the citrus business. J.J. wound up in the Tallahassee, Florida area in the fishing, boat building, and ice business. Their older sister (William G. and Emiline Warren's first child), Frances Ophelia (Fanny) Warren, was born in Elba, Alabama on 10/29/1860. She married Hardy P. Treadwell, a pharmacist, and they remained in the Dale, Coffee, and Geneva County area for the rest of their lives. An older brother, Bailey "Buck" Warren is reported to have wound up in Birmingham, Alabama, and was a doctor. I know very little about J.J.'s other siblings. Names that I know are: Myrtie, Liza, Mary, and "Duckie".
Any information on the William G. Warren family would be appreciated. I will also be happy to share any information that I have.
