Need help with information on John Davis, born 1807 in North Carolina, listed in Covington County in 1860 census. This family is in 9th District of Baker County, Georgia in 1850. Where is this family in 1870?

His wife is Margaret, b. ca. 1820 in either Georgia or North Carolina (she is listed born in 1820 in Georgia in the 1850 census of Baker County, Georgia and born 1835 in North Carolina in 1860 Covington, Alabama).

Children: William A. Davis, b. 1843 in Alabama or Florida. Sarah Ann Davis, born 1846 in Florida. Andrew J.Davis, b. 1848 in Georgia. John Joshua Davis, born 1849 in Georgia. James A. Davis, b. 1852 in Georgia. Mary C. Davis, born 1853 in Alabama. Andrew W. Davis, born 1855 in Alabama. and Elizabeth M. Davis, born 1858 in Alabama.

From the birth of the children it appears John Davis and his family was in Alabama or Florida when their first two children were born, 1843 and 1847. Then in Georgia for the next two, 1850 and 1852. Then the last three listed in the 1860 census, which is the last one I can find them in; those three children are listed born in Alabama from 1853 to 1860.

My ggggdfather was a (name unknown Davis married to Priscilla, b. 1810 in North Carolina, living in Baker County, Georgia from 1830-1870. The fact that John Davis, b. 1807, was in Baker County in the same district as my Davis family in 1850 suggests perhaps a relationship.

Is this John Davis part of the John Davis family that was in Covington County, Alabama in 1840? If so, what is the connection.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

Barbara
