Have you seen the James Butler on the 1830Columbus Co. census?He is the right age to be yours.Further down on the page is a Robert Butler who looks like he could be James' father.
Also there are several Brights and one Wright family there in 1830.I'd say there is a high probability that your Butlers came from there.I've read that over 100 people left Columbus Co. together.
Maybe you could try to find some Columbus Co. Butler surname reseachers.Perhaps Robert left a will that names James and his wife.
