Yes, I am aware of the Andalusia Star News website. I check the obits and I always look for new articles by Curtis Thomasson.
The primary surnames I am researching in Covington County are WHIDDON and CURRY. They settled north of Red Level, in and around the area where the Pigeon Creek Baptist Church and cemetery are presently located. At one time, the area was known as the Westover District in the Federal census.
Some of the collateral surnames I am researching in Covington and Butler Counties are: CHESSER, SWEATT, STUART, PAYNE, JOSEY, DEWRELL, and CROSS.
Thanks to Lisa Franklin's website and several kind Covington County residents in the area, I have located over 100 ancestors and relatives buried at the Pigeon Creek Baptist, Kervin, Vera Cruz, Mt. Carmel, Fairmount Baptist, and Andalusia Memorial Cemeteries.
