Daniel SARTOR (1789-1873) SC > AL
Seeking to share information with other researchers or descendents of Daniel SARTOR born 11 Feb 1789 Union County, SC; died 13 June 1873 in Alabama, buried at Mt.Ida Cemetery, Crenshaw County, Alabama. I believe that his parents were William SARTOR and Rebecca HUGHES.
According to pension application records, Daniel SARTOR served in the War of 1812 from SC in 1st Regiment (Means) SC Militia. He lived most of his adult life in the Pike(later Crenshaw) County AL area. He was married in abt 1825 to Malinda HAWKINS whose name appears in the pension record. Known children of this marriage, all born in Alabama:
Nancy SARTOR, born 1825. Marriages to James BENBOW (1839), Reuben B. FRANKLIN (1845, later divorced), and William S. PIERSON (abt 1857). She died in DeWitt Co., TX Jan 1862.
Caroline SARTOR, born 21 Jan 1829, died 27 Oct 1899, buried at Mt.Ida Cemetery, Crenshaw Co, Alabama. Married to Evan BENBOW 3 March 1841.
Rebecca SARTOR, born 15 Sep 1830, died 2 Feb 1898, buried Mt Ida Cemetery. Married to John R. FRANKLIN, 26 Feb 1846, Pike County AL.
William W. SARTOR, born 1832, died 1852, buried (Old) Valley Cemetery, Crenshaw County, AL. Married Martha Green BENBOW, 3 March 1848, Pike Co, AL.
