Tammy:
Although I do not live in SW Alabama, I was born and raised there. The comment made to you by "Nasty" is just that (nasty) -- and is not typically of the warm hospitality I know to be found in that area.I offer my apologies to you for his tasteless remarks.
Allow me to offer a small resource to you -- and ANYONE else who may wish to look.I have created a database with some 700 names of people whose death notices were found in the Monroe Journal newspaper 1868-1910.I quickly went through it and found several Salters. You may examine that file at the following address:
http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/al/monroe/obits/monroe_journal.txthttp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/al/monroe/obits/monroe_journal.txt
If in your searching you find a connection with any of the following surnames in Monroe/Conecuh/Butler Counties, I would love to share all I have with you:Hendrix, Roley, Morris, Kirksey, Travis, Joyner, Wiggins, Ashcraft, Armstrong, Johnson, Howell, Stacey, Grimes, Kearley, Blanton, Ferguson, Hanks, Rigby, Brooks, Chandler, Cotton, Courtney, Harrison, Little, Hidgon, Purvis, Quinley, Watts, etc.!!
Blessings in your search,
Ken Johnson
