Catrett, Sims, Spivey in southeastern Alabama
I, too have many Catrett’s (various spellings as well) in my line.I have a Martin Catrett married to Martha Spivey.Children are:
1) Josephine Catrett who married Wallace Sims; Josephine was born 28 December 1887, presumably in Pike County and died 25 April 1960 in Opp. She is buried beside her first husband Wallace, at Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Piney Grove, Alabama.She married Dave Marshall some time after Wallace died 24 September 1931.

Mrs. Josephine Marshall Dies at Opp Hospital Monday (Memorial Obituary appearing in The Dothan Eagle on 26 April 1960)
Mrs. Josephine Marshall, 75 year old resident of Opp died at Mizell Memorial Hospital at 5:00 o'clock Monday morning, April 25th.
She was born in Pike County, but had been a resident of this area for the past 55 years.The deceased was a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, April 26th at 2:30 O'clock from Bradshaw Baptist church with Rev. Earl Hall, pastor of First Baptist Church in Opp officiating.Internment was in Bradshaw cemetery.(Perhaps she was *going* to buried here, but she wasn’t)
Serving as casket bearers were R. Z. Sexton, Willie Kendall, J. Berry, Rex Knowles, Ed Kendrick and Malcomb Catrett.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clara Mae Sims Berry, Opp; Mrs. Lucille Sims Stewart, Haines City, Fla.; and Mrs. Eugene (Vera Mae Sims) Marshall, Panama City, Fla.; five sons, Raymond Dewey Sims, Opp; L. Grady Sims, Akron, Ohio; Loman Clayton Sims, Milton, Fla.; Walter R. Sims, Avon Park, Fla.; and Leon Sims, Samson, Ala.; sister, Mrs. Cassie (Catrett) Bowden, Andalusia, Ala.; brothers, N. B. Catrett, Brantley, Ala.; George Catrett, Samson, Ala.; Russell Catrett, Andalusia, Ala.; and Ruben Catrett, Flordia.Also 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Josephine's headstone reads "Jossee M.".I believe this is due to the fact that she was a Marshall when she died as she married Dave Marshall after Wallace died.
