I have decided after 4-5 years trying to gather facts that Gworge is not George Joseph Hobbs, just plain George Hobbs at this time. NO JOSEPHS'S NAMES FOR SEVERAL MORE GENERATIONS.

aLSO: hIS WIFE IS JUST PLAIN "Mary ________ Hobbs, from the census, NOT Mary Martha Burkhalter.

Mary Martha Buckhalter was married to Joseph Grant and they lived in Monroe Co., GA.
They were the parents of Sarah Webb Grant and Mary Hay Grant, both married Hobbs brothers of Solomon Hobbs, another son of George. Someone got the names mixed up and consolidated the 2 couples and posted it on internet a "fact". Don't believe it until we find something solid.

I think George had a middle name, perhaps, William, Harlan, Horton, Franklin, Thomas, Solomon, Marion??? All common men's names in this Hobbs family. No Joseph's.
Jeannine
