I do not know of any family letters.

My mother always told me that her great-grandmother or great-great grandmother was a Cherokee Indian. I never asked any questions, and unfortunately my mother is now deceased.

I have not been able to document any of my ancestors before Charles Shockley Cole and Martha Catherine Barnes, so I have no idea who the Indian grandmother might be.

Have you been able to trace Martha's ancestors? I think they came from South Carolina?
