Jan,

I have a studio portrait of a young woman named Imogene Hood. The photo was among the keepsakes of my grandmother Mary Emma Scarbrough who was born in Clay Co., AL, in 1880. On the back of the photo she wrote, "Imogene Hood, my first school teacher, Ashland, Ala." That would put the photo in about the 1885-86 time frame. My grandmother's family moved to Albertville, Marshall Co., AL, soon thereafter.

Have you come across this name in your Hood research?

Chuck
