Hello Mike again:
I made a mistake in my previous message.
George Joseph Hobbs, mar. to Mary Martha Burkhalter was from Wake Co., NC. where his father died 1802 without a will and his wife Mary died 1803. Estate settled in 1804-5 with George the executor. George had about 5 sisters, I have the names and a copy of the estate settled.

The reason we know George is NOT the George in the Sampson Co., NC census is the age of George, he would have been 10 yrs. old when he started his family if he were the George in Sampson Co. census.
