Okay, I thank you for all the replys but due to more knowledge now, I was barking up the wrong BROWNING.PLEASE DISREGARD POST OF 12/7/03
In the 1880 census, Clay Co. ALA, James M Browning shows up born 1807 in SC with a father born unknown, and a mother born in VA, his wife's name is Annie S. born 1826 GA (I suspect that she's a second wife) due to the fact that another James M. Browning is just beneath him (ie.next door) with his own family and is listed as being born in 1848 and his mother as being born in SC, in looking at the 1870 James M. #1 is married to an 'N.C.' born in 1826 in SC.
Following me? then the 1880 census lists James M. Browning #1 with the wife Annie, 1826 GA, children Sidney L.b. Oct 1871, Clay Co. Ala, Henry M. b 1873 Ala, William J, b. 1864, Ala, Merit L.(i think, it was hard to read) b. 1868, Sarah, 1866, Susan b. 1847.
THEN found Sidney L. Browning and a Lela Smith (dau of SM Smith) married Dec 18 1890 in Clay Co. Alabama.
To make a long story short, SIDNEY L. BROWNING, WIFE LELA SMITH BROWNING, children Annie Mae, 1902, ala, Ester Pernel b. 1906, TX, Len Madison b. 1912, Clay Co. TX, Howard Myrl b. 1912, Mame b. Oct 1892, Susie B, b 1894, Nora 1898, Carrie P b. 1905 and Cleon b. 1910. These have all been verified via census records and I knew some of them, I just did not how they were related while I was growing up in Garza Co. TX. AGAIN THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP, RTPARKS
