BROWNING & SMITH FAMILY, CA 1880 CLAY CO. ALA
Posted by: rtparks (ID *****0011) Date: December 07, 2003 at 23:16:06

Lela Smith (daughter of SM Smith) married Sidney L. Browning in Dec 1890...Sidney's father signed for him ...a James M. Browning ....(in looking at the census of 1880 Clay Co Ala. he was born in 1825 in NC) can't make out the mother, looks like it might be Dovie age was 54 born in GA. Anyway, Lela on the 1930 census of Lynn Co. TX is listed as divorced, her last child was born in 1912, Len and Howard, don't know if they were twins or not, but it looks possible.
The rest of the children are right Annie, Ester P., Len Madison and Howard.
The children all settled in and around Garza, Lynn and Terry Co. tX, where they raised their children. Don't know what happened to Lela, but I'm still looking. And Sidney was in Texas since the oldest child, Annie Mae was the only one born in ALA, the rest in Texas. And I don't know what happened to him either.

Again, I ask for help, this time in locating Sidney L. Browning, James M. Browning, SM Smith, and Lela Smith, thanks RT PARKS
