The Census information that you found is correct. Loomis Robertson is a son of William's by a previous marriage. William Robertson died on 9-24-1928 in Clay County, Ala. and is buried in the Ebeneezer Cemetery, beside his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Pursley. On 11-3-1923, William Robertson applied for a Confederate Pension. On 10-8-1929, Mary Malissa Hudgins Robertson filed a Widows Blank for Reclassification. Their son, James Johnson (Jay) Robertson was trying to get the pension application to go through in 1924, according to copies of letter received from the Alabama State Archives. On Mary Malissa's blank for reclassification she stated that she was born 10-1-1859 in Talladega Ala. and that her father's name was Andy Harris. When asked if he was living, she replied that he is supposed to be dead. When asked when and where he died, she replied, Don't know.
James Johnson (Jay) Robertson married Willie Beatrice Simpson on 3-9-1909 in Clay County. They have 15 children, all of whom were born in Clay County, except for the last three. It is assumed that they moved to the Wood County/Upshur County region of Texas in about 1932 with Mary Malissa Hudgins. Mary Malissa Hudgins is buried in Smith Cemetery, Wood County, Texas.
I hope that this helps you. I would love to have information on Mary Malissa's parents and siblings.
