Dear Bill, Thank you for the response. While most of the information is correct concerning the children of PJ and John McDuffie's children, I am not certain that the notes related to them directly are correct. Nothing is documented and we only have oral lore to go on.

PJ and John show up in the 1880 Clarke County census, and I was going through a process of elimination in seeing If I can find earlier referance to them in Clarke. They both wind up in Pensacola by 1885 with all of the children.

Our lore holds that PJ was "from Coffee County" but we cannot locate her in any of the early households. Nor in any of the surrounding counties. It is my belief that the Alabama connection crept in in later generations, for what ever reasons.

Will keep looking, thanks again for the response.
