I wound up with quite a bit of Jarred Erwin info, but it turned out to be a dead end for me. My Erwin research has finally led me to Thomas J. Erwin who came to the same part of Texas, in the late 1840's. Thomas came through LA and so far he doesn't appear to be connected to Jarred. Interestingly though, Thomas' daughter Laura (my G-G-Grandmother) married a Pace from Clarke Co., AL. George W.
Pace, son of Thomas and Jincy Touchstone Pace came to TX around 1868-69 from Newton Co., MS after having been born in Clarke Co.
My goals now are to trace Thomas Erwin; to track down the origin of his 2nd wife Mary Ann (Laura's mother) who appears to have been a widow of an unknown Stinnett;
and to figure out if the Clarke Co. Paces descend from Tidewater VA Paces or from Welsh immigrant-Frederick Pace. If any of this stuff crosses your lines, I'd love to hear about it. Brian.
