kevin, there was a madison county (ala.) established in the cherokee lands. check http://www.segenealogy.com/alabama/al_maps.htm for county formation maps. them you may want to do a google search on madison co. a good search would be: madison co. al.:genealogy it seems the choctaw and creek indians were located in the area where baldwin, clark and monroe counties come in. the cherokee were more in the northeastern corner of the state. if there were any partitions, they would probably come from madison co. hope this helps. jo ann
