Samuel James (1869-1821) m. Mary Darrington

Samuel James was born in 1769 in the Camden Dist. SC. He died on September 28, 1821 in Clarke Co. AL. He was the son of John James and Sarah Moore. He married Mary Darrington in 1794 in the Camden Dist. SC. She was the daughter of Robert Darrington and Ann Rees. He served in the House of Representatives in SC for two terms from Kershaw Co. SC. They moved to Clarke Co. AL between 1818 and 1820. They had the following children:

1) Mary Darrington James (1795-1851) m. Francis Boykin (my line)
2) Robert Darrington James (1797-1860) m. Maria Cowles
3) Sarah Ann James (1799-1805)
4) Theodocia James (1802-1863) m. John Stark Hunter
5) Lorenzo James b. 1805, m. Eliza Ann Wortham Scott, daughter of John Scott and Eliza Ann Coleman.
6) Thomas James, b. 1807, m. Clementina R. Scott, sister of Eliza Ann Wortham Scott.
7) Eliza James (1809-1813)
8) Rebecca James (1811-1883) m. Isaac H. Erwin.
9) Charlotte James (1814-1871) m. Charles E. Marston.
10) Emily James (1816-1868) m. Fred S. Blount.
11) Samuel James (1821-1839)
