Hello....I am searching for the parents of John Wesley Singleterry, born February 1872 in Mississippi. His brothers were William James Singleterry, Jesse Singleterry, and possibly a M. Singleterry. It is believed his father died while John was a small boy, and he and his siblings were then raised by his grandparents in Choctaw County, Alabama. The only information I have for his mother is that her first name begins with a "C" and she was born about 1845 in Alabama. In the 1880 census, Sataria, Yazoo County, MS she is listed as a widow and is living in the Jim Johnson household as a servant along with two of her sons, John Wesley and Jesse.

John Wesley married Elizabeth ? in about 1890. She was born about 1873 in Alabama. They lived in Wayne County, Mississippi and had the following children: Rosa May, William Grover, Jonathan D., Jesse, Earl, Lamar, Rush, Eugene, Dora, and Elizabeth.

Also does anyone know Elizabeth's maiden name and any information about their children? Any help is greatly appreciated...Thanks, Judy A'Day
