The James Worth ( Jimmie) McCullough that married Permelia Elizabeth Conant in Cherokee Co., Al on 2 May 1875 was the son of William & Eliza R. Gound McCullough, not S.H. McCullough. William & Samuel Houston (S.H.) McCullough were brothers that came to Cherokee County from Knox County Tn abt 1830.

" Some time about the year of 1830 several of the McCullough boys and young men came from Knox County Tennessee together with others from that section and made settlement in what is now known as Cherokee County, Alabama. The post office when established was Ringgold which is located in what came to be known as Broomtown Valley. This post office was five miles north of the present Gaylesville."
