John,
When I was a boy, my dad took me to his aunts house close to Center Ala. I think Wise Lake covered part of her land when they built the dam. As I remember her house was close to the bridge over the coosa river. I think she was a Duke. His mother was Mildred Ester Duke and his aunt was named Ann, I think. Do you have any records of Ann Duke in Cherokee County? If so let me know. thanks.
