Searching for info on any TANNER family of Cherokee and nearby counties in 1800's. Especially looking for Silas TANNER b 1844, Cherokee Co.,AL and d 1875 (place unknown). He married Sarah Adeline JOHNSON in Polk Co., GA in 1860. He was briefly in the Union Army in 1864 then deserted. His children were:Frank N., John Thomas, Fannie, Ben, William and Samuel. He was the son of John TANNER and Rona(Unknown).
