1. John LAWSON was born about 1821 in SC, died by 1868.
He was married to Catherine WORKS about 1844. Catherine WORKS was born about
1823 in NC and died about 1852. John LAWSON and Catherine WORKS had the following children:
2 i. Sarah LAWSON was born about 1845 in DeKalb Co., AL.
3 ii. William LAWSON was born about 1847 in DeKalb Co., AL.
4 iii. David LAWSON was born about 1850 in DeKalb Co., AL.
He was married to Harriet Ann POOLE about 1852. Harriet Ann POOLE was born about 1823 in SC. She was still alive in 1884. John LAWSON and Harriet Ann POOLE had the following children:
5 i. Samuel LAWSON was born about 1853 in DeKalb Co., AL.
6 ii. Leamon J. LAWSON was born about 1855 in DeKalb Co., AL.
7 iii. Jesse Roscoe LAWSON was born on 10 Mar 1857 in DeKalb Co., AL.

She was married to William Preston SHIRLEY (son of John Newton SHIRLEY and Elizabeth
"Eliza" Jane MASTERS) on 20 Jul 1880. William Preston SHIRLEY was born on 11 Jun 1861 in
Harmony, DeKalb, AL. He died on 27 Jan 1940 in Hopkins Co., TX. He was buried on 28 Jan 1940 in Old Tarrant Cem., Sulphur Springs, Hopkins, TX.
