Caleb and Margaret Holloway were prominent planters of antebellum Chambers County. Their fine old home stood until about five years ago when it was torn down from years of neglect. The Holloway Cemetery, located across the road from the Holloway House, was destroyed a number of years ago. Fine marble monuments and beautiful iron fencing were bulldozed into a large pile. Large blocks of the monuments are still recognizable in the debris pile.
