Have just found again!, that I already have the family connection for Richard Ranom Sims. Don't know why his name is found as Simms. His ancestry is traced back to Adam Symes and wife, Mary Isham.
The Probate Court record for Richard Ransom Sims/Simms is recorded in Chambers County, Alabama.
Ref: Probate Court Record No.9, page 489; 30 July 1883.
Also: Probate Court Administrator's Record No.11, page 232; 9 Dec. 1881. Included is a note of obligation as follows:
"By the twenty fifth day of December next, I promise to pay C.H. Sims (illegible) or (sic) borrow the sum of fifty six 25/100 dollars for value received this February the 9 - 1880"
R. R. (x) Sims, his mark.
C.H. Sims, Jr.
Note: Charles H. Sims, Jr.; b. abt. 1859 in Chambers Co., AL. and died 1932 in Chambers Co., AL. was a grandson of Richard Ransom Sims.
He, Richard Ransom Sims, was born about 1793 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia to Charles Sims (c.1717-c.1832) and 2nd wife, name unknown.
Charles Sims (c.1717-c.1832) parents were:
Adam Symes (c.1689-c.1732) & wife, Mary Isham.
I would much appreciate help with completing a family group form on Richard Ransom Sims, married 5 October 1813 in Madison County, Georgia to Mary Wyatt Bullock; b. 10 Nov. 1791 to Hwakins Bullock and wife, Frances Roy Gordon.
Richard Ranson & Mary Wyatt (Bullock) Sims must have had at least ten children, but I have names of only six.
