Thanks for the reply.
I just got through working the census on a Willis and son Willis R. Thoranton. Willis was in 1850 & 1860 Troup Co., GA. In 1860 he's living next door to his mother, Sarah Thoranton, who was Sarah Griggs Pritchett Thornton. Thornton was from her second marriage. This I learned from a Griggs-Pritchett descendant. I tracked Willis and Willis R. to Macon Co., AL in 1880. Then Willis R. to Lee Co., AL in 1900, 1910, & 1920. In 1920 he was living with daughter, Ida Morgan.
I hope I haven't latched onto the wrong Willis R. somehow. Let me know if this info corresponds with yours. Please.
