Marsha, I don't recall if I had contacted you in the past about the Hadaway's or not. I have a Penelope Hadaway who was married to Thomas Barham Sands in Jones County, Ga May 10, 1821, they had a son by the name of David A. Sands born Feb 17, 1822. Thomas was married a second time to Winnifred Smith in Jones county on May 19, 1823 and moved to Harris Co. Ga when that county was opened to settlement in 1828. I don't know if Penelope died or what the circumstances were. Family Lore states that Thomas and Winnifred raised David until he was out of control, then we don't know what happened to him. There is a record of a David A. Sands in Chambers County in 1860 that would be close to the right age. I believe that Penelope was the daughter of a David Hadaway but have no documentation on it. Somewhere in my pile file I have some other information on the Hadaway's of Chambers county Al. I will try to locate it and get back with you. With the new way of recording email addresses on this system, I couldn't read your's so have to respond this way and hope you review the posting pages often enough to see it.

My new email address
