I'm sorry but I do not have the names of Samuel Metcalf's parents. I have been searching for same for over forty years. I don't not have the names of any of his siblings either. I understand from other Metcalf researchers that he had a half-brother named Hiram Moore.

Here is what I do know about Samuel: He was born in Hamilton Co., Tennessee in 1818. In 1839, he married FAnnie Phillips, in Benton (later Calhoun Co., AL). She was dau of Mark Phillips and Nancy Sheffield Phillips. They had 9 children.

Samuel was killed accidentally in 1859 by Vandie Sturke who had mistaken Samuel for Hiram Moore. Samuel is buried in Old HArmony Cemetery, Rainbow Drive, Gadsden. Alabama.
