Bill
I went by Whites Gap Cemetery but I couldn't find any Stephens there. Next time I get to go that way, I am going to check again so don't give up, I may just be slow getting there. O.K.
Also, I went on up Whites Gap Rd. til it crosses Hwy. 9 and turns into 55. I guess about 15 miles or so, just a little ways before 55 dead ends into 49 I found a Steed Cemetery. There may not be any connection to your Stephens but there was a:
Rebecca M. Stephens Apr. 3. 1841 Aug. 12, 1928
Husband: J.D. Stephens June 9, 1839 Oct. 24, 1922--Co. G.
40 Ga. Inf. C.S.A.
------------------------------------------------------------
John Tillman Stephens July 17, 1869 June 21, 1954
Wife: Martha M. Stephens May 22, 1872 May 26, 1911
Son: John William Stephens Sept. 7. 1901 Nov. 17, 1908
There was another one that I couldn't read the name on but it had one date on it May 8, 1890
------------------------------------------------------------
Like I said these may not be your line but I thought I would copy them down while I was there.
Frances
