Hi Linda! I have no info on your family, but my great-grandfather was also a methodist preacher (possibly circuit rider) in AL, probably late 1870's to early 1880's. He is in the census in Calhoun (Benton?) County in 1870 as V. E. Parker, and died in Cherokee County in early 1880's. Have you found any source that has info on methodist churches and preachers of that era? Thanks. Rae
