I come from a long line of Calhounians, including Bynum, Murphree, Allen, Lloyd, Maddox, and last but not least Ford, on my father's side. On my mother's side there are Ayers, Chandlers, Stallings,Paytons. I pretty much have my family organized except for the Allens. They have been the hardest so far. His name was Columbus H. Allen b. 1848 Ga, died 1896 Eulaton, Calhoun Co. Al. In his will he names two daughters which are his and Rachels. He also names two other daughters, Mary A. Allen and Cyntha Wileman/Wilemon. So I feel these two daughters are grown and at least one is married. Who was their mother? He married Rachel Evelyn Lloyd Dec. 19, 1875 in Calhoun Co., Al. They are on the 1880 census, the 1890 is destroyed, he is dead by the 1900. I don't have access to the 1870 Calhoun Co. census to see if he is on that census or not, but I feel that he must have been married before Rachel as in his will he names the two daughters that are not his and Rachel's. On the 1880 census these two children are not listed as living with C. H. and Rachel Allen, just their two daughters, Lula E. and Nancy C. Lula E. "Lou" Allen married Caleb Milton Ford of Calhoun Co (Eulaton). They had 8 children of which only one is still alive, at the age of 92. She still lives in Eulaton. Nancy C. Allen married Rev. R. H. "Ruf" Martin in Calhoun Co. They had eleven children, don't know if any still alive, but don't think so. I know that C. H. Allen is buried at Eulaton Methodist Church Cemetery beside his wife Rachel Evelyn Lloyd Allen Brickhouse. She married John Howcott Brickhouse after the death of C. H. Allen. I live in the wilds of Florida and I depend upon the net for a lot of my information. If anyone has access to the 1870 Calhoun Co. Census I would appreciate it so much if they would look to see if C.H. (Columbus H.) Allen and family are listed on it. Do you have a list of who is buried at Eulaton Baptist Church Cem. or Eulaton United Meth. Church Cem. I have quite a few of the members of my family buried at Eulaton Meth. but very few at Eulaton Bapt. Last but not least, how do you get a subscription to the quarterly, and how do you get a post in it?
