I am searching for information on Rice R. Rainey/Raney and his descendants. I am descended from his son John Raney and his wife Amanda. Their son Henry Gordon Raney was my great grandfather. Henry and Mattie Wynn Raney had a son named Leon Hunter Raney. He was my grandfather. I never knew him or any of his family. He and my grandmother divorced when my dad was very young. My dad did not know him either. Both he and my grandmother are deceased. Leon had a brother named John H. Raney/Rainey. The spelling has been different depending on which documents you look at. Henry G. Raney had two brothers - William "Thurman" Raney and Ocie or O.C. Raney. If any of these names sound familiar and you can help, I would be most grateful.
