Eli was in company C with his brothers William Jackson( Sgt) and John Albert (Prvt.)
Eli was a wheelwright and worked on the wagons. He was surrendered at Appomatox.
There is a family story that he was making a blackberry pie when Petersburg was fired upon. He found that amusing. After the end of the war, he migrated to Lincoln County, Tn along with the rest of his siblings.
