Many Womack Families (from georgia) have settled in Butler
County, Al, especially around the "Ridge" One George
was here in 1840. Lewis 1806, son, Augustus was more
wealthy than his Dad. Many more were listed in the 1860
census, but no slave schedule. I know they had slaves
but do not have a deed or will. Two of my Lewis line
Girls married two Womack brothers from Wilkes Co,Ga.
Mary Maria (1773) m. Mansel Womack, Sarah (1786) m.
