One for each Alabama county, plus an index. You may want to contact the Butler County Heritage Book Committee, P. O. Box 971, Greenville, AL 36037. Committee members were members of Butler Co. Historical Society. Someone there may be able to help you find the information you are looking for. I am a native of Southwest Louisiana, and I have lived in Birmingham, AL since my marriage to Ed Wells in 1954. Ed was born in Honoraville, Crenshaw Co., AL. Sometime during WWII, his parents moved to Greenville where they owned and operated R. F. Wells Grocery on College St. The store was originally owned by Ed's grandfather, John Green "Toby" Wells and his wife Lula Thomas. After being discharged from service, Ed's brother, Billy Gray Wells, returned to Greenville, where he owned and operated B. G. Wells Grocery across the road from the Glove factory. Best regards, Rosie Morein Wells Birmingham, AL rose@cajunclearinghouse.com Notify Administrator about this message?
